Our organization wants to make sure that each participant is following ODFW regulations throughout the challenge and is not putting additional pressure on any vulnerable species. The challenge is intended to be a celebration of Oregon's native trout species and the ecosystems that support their populations while encouraging people to explore the diverse ecosystems that Oregon offers.
To complete the challenge, take a photo of a native trout caught in each of Oregon's ecoregions and submit the photo with the location, date and species. One of the largest benefits of this challenge is that over time, we will create a large database of native trout population data. Accuracy of submissions is essential.
A full version of our guidelines can be found HERE or on the Basalt to Breakers website. Or for more information, visit Basalt to Breakers' challenge FAQ page. Please note that as our fiscal sponsor, Oregon Wildlife Foundation will be referenced throughout the registration process.
